Is my Sony Smart TV supported?

If you Sony Smart TV is a 2015 model or newer and is running Android 7.0 or 8.0 then it is supported for Pure Flix.

You can check your current software version by doing the following:

  1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
  2. Select "Settings".
  3. Select "System Settings" or "Product Support".
  4. Select "Customer Support" or "System Information".
  5. Select "Product Information".
How do I install Pure Flix on my Sony Smart TV?
  1. Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
  2. Navigate down to and Select “Google Play Apps
  3. Click “Search” at the top left (looks like a magnifying glass)
  4. Type “Pure Flix
  5. Click “Search
  6. Select “PureFlix (Android TV)"
  7. Click “Install” on the Pure Flix app
  8. When the download finishes click “Open

When the Pure Flix app has opened sign in with the email address and password you have associated with your Pure Flix account.

How do I resolve issues on my Sony Smart TV?

Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection

  1. Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
  2. Navigate down to and Select “Network
  3. Click on the connected network
  4. Verify that the connection signal strength is Good or Better

Then

  1. On a Device Connected VIA WiFi do the following:
  2. Go to google.com
  3. Search “speedtest
  4. Click “Run Speed Test
  5. Notate the download and upload speed as Pure Flix requires a minimum of 5mbps download

Step 2: Clear the Pure Flix App Data

  1. Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
  2. Navigate down to and select “Settings
  3. Select “Apps
  4. Select “PureFlix (Android TV)
  5. Click “Force Stop” (to verify it is not running in the background)
  6. Click “Clear Cache
  7. Click “Clear Data

Step 3: Restart Your Sony Smart TV

  1. Point the remote control to the illumination LED and press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds until a message “Power off” appears.
  2. TV reboots automatically. Wait for approximately one minute, and the TV will turn back on.
    Note: If it does not reboot, press the POWER button on the remote control to turn on the TV.
  3. TV reset operation is complete. Try Pure Flix again.

If you are still experiencing issues please follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall your Pure Flix app.

Step 4: Delete and Reinstall the Pure Flix App

  1. Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
  2. Go to and Hold the SELECT button on the “Pure Flix” App
  3. After a few seconds release it and a trash can will appear
  4. Move the app to the trash can and click the SELECT button
  5. Verify by clicking “OK
  6. Click “Done
  7. Press the “Home” button on the Sony Remote
  8. Navigate down to and Select “Google Play Apps
  9. Click “Search” at the top left (looks like a magnifying glass)
  10. Type “Pure Flix
  11. Click “Search
  12. Select “PureFlix (Android TV)"
  13. Click “Install” on the Pure Flix app
  14. When the download finishes click “Open
