Supported Hardware (Models) and Software
At this time, we are currently only supported through the Chromecast device. We are not supported for any built-in casting options on TV's, including built-in Chromecast. You will need a separate Chromecast device to cast Pure Flix to your TV.
How to Cast From Your Android Device to the Chromecast

Go to your supported Android devices home screen.

Go to the Google Play store on your Android device.

Search for the Pure Flix app.

Click on the Pure Flix app in the Play Store.

Click on “Install” in the Play Store.

Once you have completed the download go back to the play store to download the Chromecast app.

Go to the Google Play Store.
-
Search for the Chromecast app.
-
Click on the Chromecast app in the Play Store.
-
Click on “Install” in the Play Store.

Once you have completed the download, verify that both the Android device and the Chromecast are connected to the same WiFi.

Open the Pure Flix app.

Click on the Chromecast icon in the upper right of the screen.

Then select your Chromecast device.

Select a title and tap play to start casting.
How to Cast From Your Apple device to the Chromecast

Go to your supported Apple devices home screen.

Go to the App Store.
-
Search for the Pure Flix app.

Click on the Pure Flix app in the App Store.

Click on “Get” (in some cases there could be a Cloud icon as it may have been downloaded before).

Once you have completed the download, verify that both your Apple device and the Chromecast device are connected to the same WiFi.

Open the Pure Flix app.

Click on the Chromecast icon in the upper right of the screen.

Then select your Chromecast device.

Select a title and tap play to start casting.
How to Cast From the Chrome Web Browser

Go to www.pureflix.com (on the Chrome web browser).

Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the Chrome web browser.

Select “Cast”.
-
Select a title and hit play to cast the video. Note: You will want to make sure that the Chromecast and the computer are connected to the same internet.
Troubleshooting for Chromecast through Your Android device
Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection
- Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device.
- Go to www.speedof.me.
- Click on Start Test.
- Once the test has finished, check the download speed to verify that is over 5 Mbps.
(Note: If your internet speed is below 5mbps, please contact your internet provider in regards to your internet speed).
Step 2: Force Quit the Pure Flix App
- Go to the home screen on your device.
- Go to settings on your device.
- Click on applications.
- Click on Manage Applications.
- Click on All.
- Click on the Pure Flix app.
- Click the Clear Cache option.
Step 3: Clear the Pure Flix App Cache
- Go to the home screen on your device.
- Go to settings on your device.
- Go to Applications.
- Go to Manage Applications.
- Click “All”.
- Click on Pure Flix.
- Press the Clear Cache option.
Step 4: Delete and Reinstall the Pure Flix App
- Go to the home screen on your device.
- Go to settings on your device.
- Go to Applications.
- Go to Manage Applications.
- Click “All”.
- Click on Pure Flix.
- Click Uninstall.
After the uninstallation is complete do the following
- Go to the home screen on your device
- Go to your app store
- Search Pure Flix
- Click on the Pure Flix app in the app store
- Click on “Install”
Once the download is complete, open and sign into Pure Flix. If you are still experiencing issues continue on to the next steps.
Step 5: Check for Available Updates
- Go to the home screen on your device.
- Go to settings on your device.
- Go to About phone/tablet.
- Click on System Updates.
Step 6: Reboot the Device
- Turn off your casting device.
- Wait for 1 full minute.
- Turn it back on.
Note: Please be certain your device is fully powered off for at least 60 seconds, following onscreen prompts if needed.
Troubleshooting for Chromecast through Your Apple device
Step 1: Test Your Internet Connection
- Search the App Store for "Ookla".
- Download the app "Speedtest by Ookla" onto your Apple device.
- Open the "Speedtest by Ookla" app on your Apple device.
- Click "GO" and wait for the app to calculate the download speed. We recommend at least 5mbps download in order for best results with PureFlix.
Step 2: Force Quit the Pure Flix App
- Go to the home screen on your device.
- Go to settings on your device.
- Click on applications.
- Click on Manage Applications.
- Click on All.
- Click on the Pure Flix app.
- Click the Clear Cache option.

- Go to settings on your device.
- Go to Applications.
- Go to Manage Applications.
- Click “All”.
- Click on Pure Flix.
- Press the Clear Cache option.
